Beatrix for Breakfast - Review

After a serious night out with the girls we had to get some good food in our bellies! Beatrix (519 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60654, United States) has a warm atmosphere, spacious and welcoming. The tables at first glance were uniform but taking a closer look you could see that the chairs were mismatched in a good way. There was also some longer, old wooden tables that accommodated bigger parties.

The food was a millennial twist on the old diner favorites. The first thing I noticed was an assortment of fresh juices (ginger snap, power greens, blue burst). I ordered the power green (kale, cucumber, pinapple, mint). It was served in a tall, thin glass, making the portion look larger. Still I felt like it was a good quantity of juice.

I ordered the braised pork sandwich with sharp aged white cheddar, jalapeño relish, with a side of hash browns. My friends ordered the special breakfast enchiladas and the quinoa cakes with egg on top. We also ordered a serving of maple bacon (outstanding) and chicken sausage. Both eggcellent!
The restaurant also had what amounted to a breakfast nacho buffet bar. I didn't have a look at it but Theresa said it looked yummy.

Over all the experience was great, if I lived in Chicago this would be a favorite. I only wish I had the chance to eat a dinner there too.
