Engadin Valley at Christmas

This year we decided to spoil ourselves a bit by going to the mountains and staying in a 5 star hotel! I have been begging Jörn to go to the Engadin (N-gah-dean)Valley (Oberengadin) since we have never been there.

Engadin is in the south east corner right next to the Swiss National Park

We stayed at the Hotel Castell in Zuoz. This place has a great location, up just enough that you look down into the valley below. The rooms were designed by two different firms, we stayed in a room designed by a company from Amsterdam.

The staff was really nice and very helpful, which they should be in the hospitality industry but these people seemed like they really enjoyed their job. The owners were also around and starting up conversations with us at breakfast and/or dinner. As we booked just one week before their winter season began, it really felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves.

I made a little video to show our two snowshoe hikes and a little bit of the Engadin Valley.
