B.s. Chemical engineering, Purdue University

Megan attended Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA from 1997-2002 earning a Bachelors of Science from the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering.

During her time at Purdue she participated in the Engineering Co-Op program where she alternated semesters at school with semesters working for GE Plastics. She also participated in EPICS, Engineering Projects in Community Service. Both opportunities allowed Megan to gain real-world experience before graduating from school.


Six-sigma Black belt

While working for GE Plastics and later for Bayer Health Care, Megan trained and received her Six-Sigma Black Belt. Six-Sigma is a set of tools and techniques for process improvement.


Facilitator

During Megan’s time at Bayer Health Care she had the opportunity to train as a facilitator. This was her first experience learning how to use social skills to make a process easier for others.


Integrative Nutrition Health Coach

In 2017, Megan enrolled in the Health Coach Training Program from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). The year-long course (2018) covered many topics ranging from nutrition, mental well-being, and relationships. Megan successfully completed the Health Coach Training Program and gained the credentials, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

The year studying at IIN changed Megan’s life. She has a new appreciation for maintaining strong relationships, focusing on self-care, and a better understanding of how food is the basis for good health.

Gut Health

From May - November 2018, Megan enrolled and completed the Advanced Gut Health Course offered by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

This advanced course covered the following:

Certified International Health Coach

To further demonstrate Megan’s commitment to Health Coaching, she took the extra steps to become a Certified International Health Coach (CIHC), a certification from the International Association of Health Coaches.

Why is being certified important? This independent certification demonstrates to future clients that Megan has received top-notch education in her pursuit in Health Coaching.

A CIHC is:

  • Committed to advancing their career as a Health Coach

  • An expert in coaching, active listening, and accountability

  • An expert in creating lasting change through positive behavior modification

  • Proficient in ethical and professional standards

In addition to being a certification body for Health Coaches, the IAHC also is involved in advocacy for Health Coaches in the US and Internationally.
